ALABAMA!

We usually have Christmas in town and spend some time with my family and Adam's. Well this year we were invited to Alabama with the rest of Adam's family spanning from Virginia all the way down to Florida. They get together every 5 or 6 years and we were on the 6th year so our time had come!!

We had a massive decision to make that wouldn't involve what food to bring, what jackets to wear, or even what presents to buy. We had to decide HOW WERE WE GOING TO GET THERE!! Drive or Fly? Anyone with a toddler knows that a car ride can go from great to torture within minutes. We would be in the car a minimum of 10 hours both ways!!!! The thought of it made me want to cry. I was in complete fly mode, but as we kept checking prices it became clear that the only pilot we would have was Adam. So now do we go during the day or at night? (Should a trip really be this difficult? :))
Day time = many stops and a very awake baby that wants to get up and play
Night time = a very sleepy baby and a small overdose of caffeine for mommy and daddy.

NIGHT TIME! NIGHT TIME! NIGHT TIME!!

Praise the Lord Almighty!! Bauer slept 8 of the 10 hours we were on the road. And when he was awake it was almost like he sat there in shock thinking, "Why am I in the truck this early in the morning? .....Surely this is a dream." And then he fell back asleep.

The entire week was great! There was tons of family, food, and fun!!! The weather was wonderful minus the first day being 18 degrees!!! It warmed up pretty good after that.
The homes were gorgeous. We couldn't help but take a photo shoot with one of them that had a lake at the bottom of their property.
Big thanks to Mitch and Mika for letting 6 family members stay with you!! We had a great time and are so glad we decided to go. It's the first time in a long time that we were ALL able to get together. What a blessing. We love you guys!!
